Easter in Poland

At Easter time a lot of people in Poland paint eggs and eat them with family on Easter breakfast. They also eat “mazurek” ( a special cake), “żurek”( a traditional soup) and white sausages.

"mazurek" - our traditional cake

“mazurek” – our traditional cake

On Saturday we go to church with Easter basket to hollow it – into our Easter basket we put Easter eggs, bread, cake, sausage, salt, pepper and horse radish.

On Sunday we eat Easter breakfast and get presents, After that we have dinner and we eat “żurek” soup.

On Monday we have “śmingus-dyngus” – we splash water onto our friends. It is very funny because they scream and are wet!
